Founding Charter
Hello there,
Before diving into this week’s edition, I’d like to share some disclaimers and guiding principles for reading this “blog” moving forward.
Disclaimer 1: I have no idea what I am talking about. Seriously. I’m no expert—though I’m not sure I even believe in that term, but that’s a topic for another time. Just remember: I have no idea what I’m talking about.
Guiding Principle 1: Self-assessment and critical thinking. If something resonates with you, great—embrace it and explore it further. Share your thoughts with me; let’s have a constructive conversation where we both learn. If we disagree, even better. Tell me why, along with your perspective. Your unique experiences shape this dialogue.
Disclaimer 2: This is an open-ended exploration of thoughts and perspectives, not absolute truth or groundbreaking science. The aim is to shed light on the mundane yet interesting aspects of life, and together, get closer to the truth—or at least, the most plausible scenario.
Guiding Principle 2: Open-mindedness. Nothing here is targeted at you personally, nor is it meant to offend. My goal is to challenge your current perceptions, not to upset you. I write from a place of genuine curiosity, aiming to understand the world more realistically and without bias. You, the reader, are central to this process, and I thank you for being part of it.
Disclaimer 3: As this blog evolves, so will I. And maybe you will too. Expect my perspectives to change, my opinions to adapt, and my understanding of the world to grow. That’s all I seek.
Guiding Principle 3: Resilience in thought and antifragility in action. We all evolve over time, and our opinions will too, if we allow it. “Resilience in thought” means emotionally detaching from our preconceived notions and embracing the constant change in the world. It’s about lifelong learning and letting go of judgment. The “antifragility in action” is about courage—stepping outside your comfort zone, embracing fear as part of the process, and striving to be the best version of yourself every day.
That’s it for now. I may revisit and revise this as we grow and learn together. Consider this the founding charter of the “blog”.
Wishing you all the best,
Best,
Vasco
